In March 2016, GuiYang, China’s first Adia-DENCO®, which uses ‘Indirect Evaporative Cooling’, was installed and commissioned in Tencent western Lab.
Tencent western Lab is specially designed to test the energy efficiency of Adia-DENCO®, it is consist of containerized Data Center and corresponding supply and Adia-DENCO® unit. The project is equipped with 2 Adia-DENCO® units with design load 120kW.
Currently the first set Adia-DENCO® unit is working well, and the second unit will be finished commissioning at end of Apr.
The core technology of Indirect Evaporative Cooling Adia-DENCO® is high-efficient heat exchange technology and we has years of experience in this area. High-efficient heat exchange technology with spray make excellent energy saving. The good performance of Adia-DENCO® also benefit from our efficient design and application in AHU and rich experiences of design and manufacture in CRAC.
Operation principle of Adia-DENCO®:
- When outdoor temperature is low enough, using fresh air cooling indoor return air through the inside plate heat exchanger;
- When outdoor temperature getting higher, the fresh air will be cooled first by spray and then be transferred into the plate heat exchanger, the unit will automatically start spray when the outdoor temperature is high enough;
- If the outdoor temperature is too high, the nature cooling cannot meet the demand of refrigeration, the unit will automatically start DXA or CW function to eliminate the rest heating load. Both inside and outside air of the heat exchanger is completely isolated, only heat exchange, the indoor air won’t be mixed with outdoor air.
Since during the whole year running of Adia-DENCO® , the necessary opening time of compressor is very short, especially in Western and North China, so the energy-saving effect of Adia-DENCO® is remarkable.
At present, the heating load of data center is 70 kW. Until 25th Mar, the Adia-DENCO® unit performs very well. The EER of Adia-DENCO® is 15, and the PUE of whole data center is around 1.08.
On 25th Mar, departments’ leaders of Tencent come to visit their western lab, and they are very satisfied with the energy saving of Adia-DENCO® , also its good performance, manufacturing technique and handling.
